Walk: Skeisnesset and Nessodden on Leka Island
Skeisnesset is a popular outdoors area with a network of walking
paths, surrounded by coastal heathlands. The western part of
Skeisnesset is a bird sanctuary, home to waders, ducks, and sea birds.
In Skeisnesset you can walk the Family trail (1,3 km), to Ivarshallaren
viewpoint (0,9km), the Geology Trail (1,2 km) or the Stone Age trail.
Informational boards along the paths highlight nature, cultural history,
geology, sagas, and fairy tales. Nessodden is the northernmost point
of Skeisnesset, 4,5 km walk each way. Some paths available to
wheel-chair users.
Directions:
Drive FV17 north towards Bindal. Take FV802 to Gutvik, then onto
FV771. Ferry to Skei. First right after the ferry dock, park in Våttvika.
