If you are travelling in Namdalen you can choose to go by car, bus, train, ferry and express boat. Drive Kystriksveien by car, try island jumping with bicycle and ferry, travel by train both north and south, or combine different modes of transport as you experience the region.
Car
Namdalen is the perfect road-trip region. Kystriksveien (Rv17) follows the coastline, there are many outdoors activities and areas that you can reach by car and driving along the Namsen river is a lovely experience. Rent a car from a car rental company or drive your own car or campervan in the region.
Bus
There are local and regional buses to and form most places in Namdalen. You can also travel by bus from Trondheim and Steinkjer to Namsos. Find the bus schedule by putting in where you want to leave from, and where you want to go, on atb.no.
Train

Hurtigruten
Hurtigruten, also known as The Coastal Express, docks in Rørvik on the Namdalen coast. At 9.pm. every evening two ships meet in the harbour. Hurtigruten goes along the Norwegian coast from Bergen to Kirkenes.

There is an expressboat all year around between Namsos, Rørvik and Gutvik. The express boat does not accept cars, but can accept bicycles. In the summer it also docks at the fishing village Sør-Gjæslingan (by request only). Other stops include Jøa (island), Abelvær (fishing village), Eidshaug, Fjølvika and Skei (on Leka Island).
