Walk: Ancient Trackway Skage - Øysvollkorsen

Tranmyra is a bog- and wilderness area between Skage and Ranemsletta.
New farms were settled here around 1930. Oldtidsvegen, an ancient
trackway, crosses the bog. This trackway is now a family-friendly
walking path. Signposted detours to Tetliberhet and Tetlivattan (viewpoint).
You can also make a detour to see grave mounds on the way.
The ancient trackway is also called “Vikingvegen” or “the Viking Road”.

Directions:

Drive FV17 from Namsos or Ranemsletta, towards Skage industriområde.
Park in the parking area to the right. Signposted path starting
just left of the exit from FV17. You can also park at Øysvollkorsen,
walk past the junction (over Melavegen) and follow signs on the left
of FV17.
