Segelsund & Landhandleriet on Jøa

Segelsund on the idyllic Jøa island is a charming farm and farm shop in an old barn, with locally made and sourced food and goods. The hosts are Randi and Eirik, a creative and handy couple who make their own herbs & salt mixes, chutneys, soaps and more.  They have eggs for sale - from their own stock of hens. They also stock a variety of local food products from other producers in the area. The vegetable garden on the farm is home to  fresh produce for use in their own café and restaurant, and the couple harvests berries and mushrooms in nature on the island during the autumn. On the farm there are also free-range pigs, goats and other animals.  Opening hours availble on their facebookpage.

In the old community church on Jøa island (600 meters from the farm) Randi and Eirik have just opened the cutest little bar and restaurant called Bedehuset Bar & Bistro. The majority of the food they serve come from their own garden and farm, or from nearby farms on the island. Fresh fish from the ocean off the coast of Jøa, wild salmon from the renowned fishing river Namsen, and locally sourced meats make up the foundation of their menus. What they serve change with the seasons. Randi makes the sourdough bread and other baked goods from scratch.

Bedehuset Bar & Bistro is open every Saturday and on request for now, but will likely be open more often in the summer.

Welcome to Jøa island and Landhandleriet!
