Stenegården at Otterøya

Stenegården rents out smaller apartments for short and long stays for holidays and leisure. Here you can find peace and quiet, go for walks, and enjoy beautiful views of both the sea and the mountains, and you can both fish and swim in the sea.

Stenegården is open for rental all year round. We have 2 houses with 2 apartments in each house. All apartments are on the 2nd floor and have an open living room-kitchen layout, bedroom, private bathroom, and balcony. The size ranges from 45 to 55m2. We have good parking spaces right by the houses.

Stenegården is located at Skomsvoll, a central spot on beautiful Otterøya outside Namsos. It takes 17 minutes to drive from the centre of Namsos. This drive is a nature experience itself. Otterøya is a rich and vibrant community with about 1,000 residents. The island's grocery store is only a 5-minute walk away. Namsos also offers cultural and historical attractions, shops, and restaurants.

The houses are in a pleasant residential area, close to the sea and surrounded by green spaces and forests. For guests who enjoy the sea and fishing (from May to September), it is possible to borrow a rowboat and life jackets. Otterøya offers many opportunities for outdoor activities in untouched nature in forests and mountains. The hiking trails are well marked. From the mountains, there is a beautiful view of both the sea and the surrounding islands and locations. Based in Otterøya, one can also take trips to the neighboring islands Jøa and Elvalandet or to other nearby places in Namdalen.

Stenegården has been in the family's possession for several generations and was in earlier times a trading place with a shop and ship calls and served as a central meeting place on the island. The oldest house is originally from 1892 and was completely renovated in 2012, retaining some of the charm from earlier times. In 2020, an old barn was taken down and a new house with a modern design was built.

We greatly appreciate our guests and want everyone to feel well taken care of at Stenegården, including personally meeting the guests upon both arrival and departure.
